Biadillah conveyed the congratulations of HM King Mohammed VI to Pinera for his election as the president of Chile, as well as the Sovereign’s condolences following the earthquake which hit Chile on February 27, claiming several lives and causing serious material damage.
Morocco congratulated Chile for its admission as the 31st member of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, the speaker of the upper house said, underlining that Morocco follows closely Chile’s model, which is a "serious, credible and wise" country that adopts a "smart and open multilateral diplomacy."
The Moroccan official also highlighted the reforms undertaken in the North African country in the last decade, notably in terms of human development and human rights.
Regarding the Moroccan Sahara issue, Biadillah underlined the importance of Morocco's initiative to grant autonomy to its southern provinces (the Sahara) as the suitable solution to settle this regional dispute.
Upon instructions of HM king Mohammed VI, speaker of Morocco's House of Advisors travelled to Santiago to attend the investiture ceremony of the Chilean president-elect.
Biadillah is accompanied by Director of American affairs at the Foreign ministry Fouad Yazourh and Morocco's ambassador to Chile Abdelkader Chaoui.
