The call was made on Thursday in Instanbul by Moroccan Foreign Minister Taib Fassi Fihri.
Fassi Fihri, who addressed the 3rd ministerial forum on Arab-Turkish co-operation, offered the Kingdom's condolences following the death of Turkish nationals in the Israeli attack on the aid fleet.
He renewed Morocco's full rejection of this deadly attack, which will have "disastrous" consequences for "peace efforts and initiatives in the Middle East."
The minister, who expressed Morocco's esteem for Turkey for its "position standing by Arab issues, including the Palestinian cause in particular," called for immediate lifting of the “unjust” blockade imposed on Gaza by the Israeli occupying authorities who “disdain the disastrous situation undergone by the populations in this occupied Palestinian territory.”
Fassi Fihri also recalled the Kingdom’s firm commitment, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, for a “just, comprehensive and lasting peace” in the region, based on the establishment of an Independent Palestinian state with Al Quds as its capital.
In this regard, Morocco, he said, stresses the pressing need for Arab and Islamic states to make concerted efforts to uphold this decisive cause.
On the forum, he expressed Morocco’s will to endeavour to raise it to the level of exemplary partnership in a position to address development challenges in today’s world of globalization and regional blocs.
