Citizens pitching tents outside laayun, means of voicing normal social demands
Morocco's Communication Minister, Government Spokesman, Khalid Naciri, Morocco's Communication Minister, Government Spokesman, Khalid Naciri, said that the pitching of tents by a group of citizens, outside the urban area of Laayun (southern provinces), is a means of voicing normal socio-economic demands, in a country that is well reputed for its democratic openness.

In a press briefing, following the weekly cabinet meeting, Naciri stated that the government is seriously trying to find solutions to the problems of these citizens, underlining that the government and the state institutions are intending to hold a normal and brotherly dialogue with these citizens, as "we sympathize with their legitimate demands".

The minister highlighted Morocco’s democratic openness and positive treatment of legitimate demands voiced by citizens.

He also underscored that those who tried to use this issue for other purposes, for the simple reason that it is taking place in the surroundings of Laayun, can only mislead naïve individuals like themselves, for they are used to telling lies and deceiving people.
