In the final statement, issued on Monday in Brussels, following the 9th Morocco-UE Association Council, "the European Union considers that its partnership with Morocco has a fundamental value, given the role that it plays not only in North Africa and the African continent but throughout the Mediterranean region."

    In this regard, the EU "welcomes the positive and constructive attitude of Morocco and its commitment to develop the Union for the Mediterranean."

    On Africa-EU partnership, the EU praised the fact that "Morocco continues to play an active role in the implementation of the Africa-EU joint strategy on climate change."

   “Cooperation between Morocco and the countries of the Sahel-Saharan Africa must be enhanced in order to fight more effectively terrorist networks,” the same source underlined.
