Euro-Mediterranean region should be open for dialogue

Morocco ambassador to Great Britain Cherifa Lalla Joumala Alaoui called on Tuesday for turning the Euro-Mediterranean region into a shared zone for dialogue, exchange and prosperity.

Speaking at the opening of a conference on "the Euro-Mediterranean Security: Morocco and British perspectives", the ambassador stressed the importance of this international forum which offers a platform to tackle Euro-Mediterranean security cooperation.

Cherifa Lalla Joumala Alaoui highlighted that the contribution of high-ranking officials and experts from Europe and the Maghreb would encourage the exchange of ideas and expertise meant to deepen discussions among Mediterranean countries.

She hoped that the meeting will examine the progress achieved up till now and identify other mechanisms that would strengthen security even more in the Mediterranean zone.
