Santos, who won in the second tour on June 20 with 69% of votes, took office as the 59th president of Colombia.
The kingdom was represented in this ceremony by a high-level delegation.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, Fassi Fihri held talks with a number of figures, particularly his Argentinian and Chilean counterparts, Héctor Timerman and Alfredo Moreno Charme, respectively.
Fassi Fihri and Timerman examined bilateral relations and means to further promote them as part of regular dialogue between Rabat and Bogota and as part of South-South cooperation, as well as regional issues.
The two sides voiced satisfaction with the momentum given to bilateral relations under HM King Mohammed VI and Argentinian president Cristina de Kirchner.
The minister’s meeting with Moreno Charme discussed means and ways to enhance economic cooperation in particular, as well as cooperation in promising sectors.
Moreno Charme told MAP the two countries’ ties are marked by “great friendship”, they both have open economies and seek to be platforms in their respective regions.
