  First batch of F-16 aircrafts delivered in Benguerir
The first batch of US F-16 military jet fighters was delivered, on Thursday, to the Royal Air Forces during a ceremony held at the Royal Air Forces' sixth air base (6-ème BAFRA) in Benguerir.
 

    The ceremony, organized upon the instructions of HM King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), was chaired by Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the southern zone, General Abdelaziz Bennani.

    The ceremony was attended by minister delegate in charge of defense, Abdellatif  Loudiyi, lieutenant general Hosni Benslimane, Commander of the Gendarmerie Royale, General Ahmed Boutaleb, Inspector of the Royal Air Forces and colonel-major Alaoui Bouhamid, Commander of the sixth air base, as well as other US high-ranking officers.

    It was also attended mainly by Wali of Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz region Mohamed Mhidia, US ambassador to Morocco Samuel Kaplan, and the governors of the Kelaât des Sraghna and Rehamna provinces.

    General Ahmed Boutaleb said, in a speech, that the purchase of these aircrafts is part of the strategy aimed at equipping and modernizing the Royal Armed Forces (FAR).
