In a message to HM the King, the French president said he follows "with a great interest and consideration the decisions and orientations adopted by your Majesty as part of the ongoing modernization of Moroccan institutions and society."

    Through these measures, said the message, the Sovereign expressed his constant will to listen to his people and its aspirations and his desire to lead a peaceful, yet resolute, evolution, allowing Morocco to harmoniously continue its adaptation to the transformations taking place in the world.

    The French president said that “in the current troubled times that the Arab world are going through, your Majesty’s wisdom and vision are a major asset for the stability of the entire region.”

    He stressed that France “will always be in the side of open Morocco and turned toward the future that your Majesty builds since the beginning of your reign.”

    HM King Mohammed VI also received congratulations from former French President Jacques Chirac.
