Freedom of journalists is a credo for Morocco, Govt. Spokesperson says
Government Spokesperson Khalid Naciri Morocco, which is resolutely committed to enhancing the democratic process, has turned the freedom of journalists into a credo, Communication Minister, Government Spokesperson Khalid Naciri said on Sunday in Tangier.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the meeting of the Federation of African Journalists' executive bureau, Naciri said Morocco is among the few countries in the region which welcome, with open arms, reporters and endeavor for broadening the scope of journalistic practice.

He recalled that Morocco has launched a national dialogue with the media with the aim of further fostering journalists' liberties in order to get them involved in supporting the country' democratic structure.

Underlining that Morocco has an independent press and allow foreign journalists to freely work on its territory, Naciri noted that the Kingdom is entitled to require the respect of "the professional code of ethics" when it comes to dealing with issues that run counter to the country's orientations.
