The government council, which met on Tuesday under the chairmanship of the Head of Government Abdelilah Benkirane, examined three bills, including the 2012 draft finance bill.

The government council, which met Tuesday under the chairmanship of the Head of Government Abdelilah Benkirane, examined three bills, including the 2012 draft finance bill.

The draft budget law is to establish the foundations of the rule of law, the implementation of the provisions of the Constitution and promote regionalization and the impulse of a strong and sustainable growth, in terms of consolidation of efforts of public investment and increased provision of state employment and social economy, said Minister of Communication, Government spokesman, Mustapha Khalfi.

The text pays particular attention to the effort on building the means of access to social services including education, health and housing. The board also discussed the draft law on guarantees granted to members of the Royal Armed Forces, in accordance with Article 71 of the Constitution.

This project determines the rights and obligations and the fundamental guarantees granted to members of the RAF during the performance of their duties to defend the integrity of the homeland, its security and its borders.

He added that the council of government also discussed the broad outlines of the draft of the fundamental law in terms of appointments in public institutions, companies and strategic appointments amongst the Order of the Council of Government, in accordance with Articles 49 and 92 of the Constitution.

Taza: Social causes behind recent incidents will be given priority

After law and order resumed in the city of Taza, priority will be given to the social causes behind the latest developments, Communication Minister, government’s spokesperson said on Tuesday.

In a press briefing following the weekly cabinet meeting, Mustapha El Khalfi said that efforts will focus on dealing with issues related to employment and exorbitant electricity bills.

Dialogue remains the ideal means to settle these problems, he insisted, highlighting the city’s harsh social and economic conditions.
Referring to damages to public and private properties, he said that the public prosecutor’s office will conduct investigations if complaints are lodged.
Reparation for damages to properties will be provided as part of a participatory action involving all parties concerned, he said.

The Minister reaffirmed that ensuring security is a main concern for the government which will not be indulgent on this matter.
