HM King Mohammed VI inaugurated, on Monday, a rural women's center and laid the foundation stone of the tourist information center in Imilchil in the central region of Midelt, part of the 13 Million dirham (1.6 million dollar) humanitarian program of the Mohammed VI Foundation.
On this occasion, HM the King paid a visit to the Ait Ali Oudaoud pilot school which was renovated and restored by the Foundation, and was briefed on the humanitarian mission and community development program carried out by the Foundation which includes mainly the organization of multidisciplinary medical missions (partial sight, cataract surgery, and awareness-raising in oral hygiene and the distribution of powder milk, school supplies …etc.)
This program provides also for the upgrade of five primary schools and the carrying out of training projects and revenue-generating activities. The aim is to improve schooling and teaching conditions in the region.
The rural women’s center, which includes a nursery, women's weaving, sewing workshop, will be managed by a local community group.
In addition to Ali Oudaoud's school, four others have benefited of this program (Tissila, Tamzazarte, Yahya Ousghir and Taghighacht). These schools have been renovated and equipped by libraries, multimedia spaces as well as literacy and tutoring rooms.
The tourist information center, launched by HM the King will serve as an exhibition space of local handcraft and is to ensure booking within a service quality framework.
The Monarch also handed over glasses and medical supplies benefiting handicapped people.
