HM the King launches construction works of Rabat-Salé highway bypass

El Menzeh commune - HM King Mohammed VI launched, on Friday in the rural commune of El Menzeh (near Rabat), the construction works of the Rabat-Salé highway bypass, to be completed for a total cost of 2.8 billion dirhams.
 - The 41-kim highway will link the highways of Rabat-Tangier, Rabat-Agadir and Rabat-Oujda.

- The project will notably help ease the traffic flow of heavy trucks.

    On this occasion, details were given to the Sovereign on the project which aims to build a 41km highway linking the highways of Rabat-Tangier, Rabat-Agadir and Rabat-Oujda.

    Designed to ease the traffic flow notably for heavy trucks, the project will yield economic results benefiting the Rabat and Salé areas and will help save time and reduce transportation costs.

    The highway, to be ready by 2013, is part of the implementation of a programme contract signed in 2008 between the State and Morocco’s national highway company.

HM King Mohammed VI launches Al-Firdaous integrated housing project in Ain Aouda
Ain Aouda - HM King Mohammed VI launched, on Friday in the urban commune of Ain Aouda (near Rabat), the Al-Firdaous integrated housing project, worth 14 billion dirhams.
 
  - The project aims at building 34,460 housing units, of which 17,000 will be dedicated to social housing.

- "Al Firdaous" is designed to contribute to the economic and urban dynamism of the capital city and overcome the lack in terms of housing benefiting the poor.


    The ten-year project aims at building 34,460 housing units, of which 17,000 will be dedicated to social housing, and will generate 12,000 direct and indirect jobs.

    In line with Royal orientations in the socio-economic field, the project will considerably contribute to spur economic and urban dynamism of the capital city and overcome the lack in terms of housing benefiting the poor.

    Under this integrated project, which spans over an area of 625 hectares, 81 community facilities will be achieved, including 28 schools, 22 social facilities, 10 administrations, 6 health centers, 6 mosques, 5 sports facilities, a museum, a library and a party hall.

    The project also includes the development of a leisure area of 40.5 hectares for sports activities, 4.23 hectares for hotels, in addition to green and internment spaces.

    The project’s design takes into account the requirements of sustainable development and the protection of the environment as well as the inclusion of renewable energies.
