HM King Mohammed VI launched on Wednesday a program of medical care benefiting the population of Imilchil and Tounfite in the central region of Midelt.

Carried out in cooperation with the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), this operation provides for the deployment, for a few days, of two rural military hospitals in the rural commune of Imilchil and the Anefgou locality (located in the rural commune of Anemzi. It is part of the FAR-led humanitarian missions in several regions of Morocco and many African countries.

A national program has been devised for the winter period by the Moroccan Royal Armed Forces in the most isolated and remote mountainous regions. It is aimed at facilitating access to medical care and providing help to the population suffering hard weather conditions.

The two rural hospitals, visited by the Monarch, include 28 beds each, and are endowed with radiology, care and surgery equipment. Qualified military doctors in all specialties will be in charge of its day-day running.

The Imilchil-based hospital covers the rural communes of Bouzmou, Amougar, Outarbate and Ait Yahya, that is a population of 35,000; while that launched in Anefgou is expected to benefit 2.217 households (27,500 people) in the rural communes of Anemzi, Agoudim and Ait Yahya Ouyoussef.
