HM the King Chairs in Oujda Signing of Partnership Agreement to Repair, Expand Road Network

- HM King Mohammed VI presided, on Tuesday in the Eastern city of Oujda, over the signing ceremony of a partnership agreement to finance the project of the city's road network repair and expansion, worth 350 million dirhams ($39 million).

 

    The agreement aims at expanding the road network on 300 km, especially in under-equipped nieghbourhoods, and rehabilitating old roads, along with reinforcing public lighting, liquid sanitation and rain water draining grids.
    The 2010-2013 agreement is a complementary component of the city's urban rehabilitation and upgrading programme, worth 3 billion dirhams.
    HM the king had enquired, on May 4, 2010, about the progress of several projects planned for 2010, as part of the rehabilitation and upgrading programme, worth over 514 million dirhams.
    The Monarch had also enquired about the projects carried out over 2006-2009, worth 2.5 billion dirhams, to reinforce infrastructures, improve housing conditions, protect the environment, develop cultural and sports equipment and rehabilitate the old medina.
