Rabat - HM King Mohammed VI received, on Monday at the Royal Cabinet in Rabat, Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, heir to the British throne, who is on a three-day official visit to Morocco at the Sovereign's invitation.
     On this occasion, HM the King held official talks with HRH Prince Charles.

    The talks took place in the presence of the Foreign Office Minister for the Middle East and North Africa, Alistair Burt, UK Ambassador to Morocco, Tim Morris, Prince's Charles Private Secretary, Clive Alderton, Moroccan Foreign Minister, Taib Fassi Fihri, and Morocco’s Ambassador in London, Chrifa Lalla  Joumala Alaoui.

Rabat - HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and their Royal Highnesses Princess Lalla Salma, Lalla Meriem, Lalla Asmae and Lalla Hasna, offered, on Monday at the Royal Palace Dar Essalam in Rabat, a private dinner in honor of HRH Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, heir to the British throne and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall.
     The dinner was attended by the Foreign Office Minister for the Middle East and North Africa, Alistair Burt, Moroccan Foreign Minister, Taib Fassi Fihri, and Morocco’s Ambassador in London, Chrifa Lalla Joumala Alaoui.

HM the King receives Head of Central Authority for Corruption Prevention
Rabat - HM King Mohammed VI received, on Friday at the Royal Palace in Rabat, Andeslam Aboudrar , Chairman of the Central Authority for Corruption Prevention (known by its French Acronym ICPC).
 During the audience, HM the King stressed the key role played by the ICPC within the framework of the rule of law and under the authority of an independent justice in terms of consolidating good governance, preventing and fighting corruption, influence peddling and the squandering and embezzlement of public funds, the Royal Household said in a statement.

In this respect, HM the King gave High instructions to the government to proceed to the revision of the legal framework governing this anti-corruption authority with a view to expanding its competences and strengthening of its actions.

This revision will allow for having adequate human and material resources as well as legal mechanisms which will enable the authority to properly accomplish its mission.

On the same occasion, HM the King paid tribute to the efforts led by Aboudrar and urged him to further pursue action towards a further contribution of the Central Authority for Corruption Prevention in the sweeping reforms launched to achieve a Moroccan model of development and democracy in conformity with the Royal speech of March 9.


HM the King chairs Council of Ministers
Rabat - HM King Mohammed VI chaired, on Friday at the Royal palace of Rabat, a Council of Ministers during which several draft laws, decrees and international agreements were examined and adopted.
 The draft texts pertain to consolidating the moralization of public life, good governance through the adoption of a draft law amending and completing the criminal procedure in terms of protecting victims, witnesses, experts and informers of corruption crimes, misappropriation, influence peddling, squandering public funds and other offences.

The council also examined draft texts aiming to reinvigorate the reform of the judiciary. In this respect the council adopted a series of texts aiming to endow the court staff with an appropriate status organizing proximity justice and defining its competences.

The examined texts also relate to organizing the judiciary in the Kingdom and the revision of the civil and penal procedures.

In the field of human rights, the council approved a draft decree on the creation of an interministerial human rights delegation with a view to boost human rights at the institutional level following the setting up of the National Human Rights Council (CNDH) and the Mediator Institute.

The draft texts also relate to reinforcing the State’s efforts in terms of providing jobs to postgraduate university degree holders.

The council also adopted a series of legislative and regulatory texts aiming at enhancing the situation of several civil servants and government officials and simplifying access to microcredit.

A series of legislative and regulatory texts relating to the implementation of Morocco’s green plan and Halieutis plan to promote the Agriculture and fisheries sector were also adopted.

In terms of energy, two draft decrees were adopted in the field of renewable energies and energy efficiency in addition to a draft law concerning nuclear security and the setting up of an agency to this end.

The council also adopted a series of draft texts relating to the setting up of an exportation free zone in Tangier dubbed “Tangier Automotive City” and the creation of the national ports agency.

Texts relating to the adoption of a new code organizing the sector of mining, the status of the chamber of commerce, industry and services, the commerce code, Post and telecommunication, security of products and services as well as a draft text completing the code of obligations and contracts.

The texts also relate to upgrading and modernizing the legal framework of professions, notably doctors, lawyers, architects, and university teachers.

The examined texts also concern the organization of the competences of the ministries of Justice, Foreign Affairs, Equipment and transport and public sector modernization and handicrafts.
