The Monarch followed a presentation by the Agency’s General Manager, Abdelkébir Alaoui Mdaghri followed by a documentary on the $ 5.7 million projects carried out in 2009 and the upcoming projects in 2010, which are worth some $ 12 million, to which Morocco contributed up to 56%.
These projects related notably to the construction and development of several educational facilities, student support through scholarships, book and school supplies, and the equipment of health services with care supply.
Alaoui Mdaghri highlighted the efforts aimed at building the Mohammed VI School of agronomy and the environment in Gaza, which costs 5 million dollars paid by the sovereign himself.
He also underlined HM the King’s decision to provide needy families with food aid during Ramadan and religious holidays, the Royal grant to Al- Aqsa Mosque and its imams, in addition to the organization of a summer camp for the children of the holy city.
The monarch also handed out a $ 50-million check as an additional contribution by Morocco to the population of the city of Al-Quds who suffer from Israel’s policy of aggression, which undermines the holy sites and the religious, cultural and historical identity of the holy city and Al Aqsa Mosque.
On this occasion, HM the King decorated Abdelkébir Alaoui Mdaghri with the Alaouite Wissam with the rank of Grand officer.
