HM the King extends sincere condolences to families of Marrakech explosion's victims, decides to pay for burial of dead
Fes - HM King Mohammed VI extended his sincere condolences and compassion to the families of Marrakech explosion's victims, and decided to pay for the burial and funeral of the victims.
The Sovereign, who chaired the Council of Ministers at the Royal Palace in Fes, gave his high instructions to the Health Minister in order to ensure that all medical and necessary personal support is provided to the injured.
The Monarch gave his High Instructions to the Interior and Justice Ministers so that the competent authorities open a judicial investigation to determine the causes, the ins and outs of this regrettable incident, statement of the Royal Cabinet said.
The Monarch also ordered them to inform the public of the findings of these investigations, in a prompt and transparent way, while making sure to reveal the truth and committing to the rule of law and the preservation of peace and security of persons and property, under the judicial authority.
Morocco's Interior Ministry said in a statement the analysis of the analysis of the first collected clues from the scene of the explosion that took place on Thursday at a cafe in Marrakech confirms the thesis of the attack.
The criminal attack left 14 dead and 20 wounded of various nationalities, the Ministry said.
An investigation was opened by the Prosecutor General of Marrakech to determine the exact causes of this blast, the same source pointed out.
HM the King launches projects in Fes to upgrade urban neighbourhood of Jenanate
Fes - HM King Mohammed VI launched, on Thursday to Fez, projects to upgrade urban neighbourhood of Jenanate, with a total investment of 101 million dirhams.
These projects are part of the comprehensive programme to redevelop substandard houses in the city, worth 756 million dirhams.
- The Sovereign inquired about the emergency programme to fight the problem of derelict buildings in the neighbourhood of Jenanete, with a total cost of 150 million dirhams.
These projects, to be implemented during the period of 2011-2014, focus on making the road linking Bab Ftouh and Bab El Kissa into a dual carriageway and the construction of roads, public places and surrounding areas.
The projects will benefit some 16,000 households living in derelict houses in the area of Jenanate.
The projects launched within the framework of a comprehensive programme to redevelop the substandard housing in neighbourhoods of Jenanate, Sehbai Ouerd El, El Massira Zougha Soufli, Douar El Berkani and Lhaj Driss with a total investment of 756 million dirhams.
Benefiting 39,150 households, this programme includes three main areas relating to the urban development (strengthening the network of roads, improving the urban and housing conditions), the redeveloping of under-equipped neighbourhoods and the development of green areas.
HM the King was informed, on this occasion, about the emergency programme to fight the problem of derelict housing in the neighbourhood of Jenanate, worth 150 million dirhams.
This three-year program will benefit about 1,200 households living in dwellings classified as hazardous.
The adopted approach to implement this programme is to evacuate households living in derelict houses to demolish buildings and provide targeted financial assistance to beneficiary households.
The families can also benefit from social housing programmes (140,000 dirhams) in accordance with the applied rules and conditions.

HM the King expressed his sincere condolences and compassion to the families of victims of this painful incident and decided to pay the costs of burial and funeral of the victims.
The Sovereign, the statement said, also gave his instructions to the Health Minister in order to ensure that all medical and necessary personal support is provided to the injured.
The Council, then, started by reviewing and approving draft texts on the agenda.
It approved a bill on the organization of a special review of general electoral rolls.
This is part of the preparations for the referendum on the constitutional reform draft, whose mainstays were defined by the Sovereign in the historic Royal Speech of March the ninth.
The bill enables those fulfilling the legal requirements and not yet included on these lists, especially the youths, with the aim of enabling them participate in the next referendum.
In accordance with the High Royal Instructions aimed at improving services and social benefits for civil servants, the Council approved two bills, respectively, for the creation and organization of the Mohammedia Foundation of Social services for the Judges and Civil Servants of Justice Ministry and the Social services Foundation for the staff of the Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries Ministry.
The Council also adopted a draft decree on remunerating civil servants and military staff and laying down measures concerning the salaries of personnel from various companies.
As part of the implementation of Morocco’s Green Plan, the Council approved a bill on organic production of agricultural and aquatic products.
This text aims to develop organic agriculture and develop an appropriate legal framework which fits the specific characteristics and requirements of its management.
Committed to strengthening the measures taken to streamline the organization of central administrations, the Council adopted a draft decree laying down the criteria for establishing general department.
The Council adopted a set of drafts in order to consolidate the effort to academic reform, upgrade the higher education institutions and strengthening their Decentralization.
Besides the four bills and seven draft decrees adopted during the Council of Ministers, thirteen international conventions were approved by HM the King.
