HM the King inaugurates 'Manar Al Maarifa' studies and research center in Oudja, worth 38 mln dirhams
Oujda - HM King Mohammed VI inaugurated, on Thursday in Oujda, Manar Al Maarifa center for studies and human and social researchers, worth 38 million dirhams.
- Manar Al Maarifa, a space for dialogue and communication between students and national and international researches.
The Sovereign toured the center, which is meant to promote research in different scientific fields (human, social, legal sciences) through supporting students and researchers in their academic projects and boosting cooperation and exchanges with universities and research centers.
The new facility, which is a space for dialogue and communication between researchers and national and international thinkers, will contribute to promoting regional and national cultural activities.
Built on an area of 7,500 square meters, the facility has, among others, a conference room, a resource center, an exhibition gallery, a library and a mosque.

Oujda - HM King Mohammed VI enquired, on Thursday, about the activities of scientific research at the Oujda's Mohammed I University.

The Monarch was given details on the different research programs carried out in the University with a view to promoting scientific research and supporting economic and social development projects in the region.
The University accredited, over the period of 2010-2014, about 146 research teams (617 teacher-researchers), 44 research laboratories (560 teacher-researchers) and six study and research centers supervised by a team of 174 teacher-researchers.
Three doctoral study centers were set up at the University as part of the implementation of the PhD program’s reform which was launched in 2008.
The Mohammed I University ranks fourth in terms of scientific production.
Concerning measures taken as part of the Emergency program (2009-2012) to promote scientific research, the University endeavoured to improve governance and the follow-up of scientific research, diversify funding sources for scientific research and promote international cooperation in this field.
HM the King inaugurated, on the same occasion, research centers at the science faculty and the School of applied science (ENSA) of Oujda for an amount of 17 million dirhams.
The new science faculty’s research center includes 21 laboratories, while the ENSA’s center comprises several research teams in industrial engineering, mechanical production and maintenance, electronics and telecommunications, mathematics, computing and mechanics, and micronanoelectronics.
It has also two lecture theaters that seat 500 people, as well as classrooms and a scientific workshop.
