The sovereign was given details on the drinking water supply program for the rural populations in Chefchaouen and other communes in Ouezzane for around 885 million dirhams ($105mln).
This program will benefit 304,000 people and increase the rate of access to drinking water by 46% to reach 89% by December 2011.
The monarch enquired also about the rural electrification program (PEGR) in the northern province worth 889 million dirhams and expected to benefit 337,800 people.
HM the King was given explanations on the program of broadening the scope of education in the province for an amount of over 472 million dirhams.
This 2010-2012 program provides mainly for setting up 26 new schools and 23 boarding schools and revamping 241 schools and is aimed at boosting the educational system's output.
HM the King was given explanations on the 2009-2012 pupils' social support program worth around 317 million dirhams and devised to fight school dropout.
The sovereign received also explanations on the 2005-2014 Chefchaouen forest massif integrated development program for 120 million dirhams. It benefits 525,000 inhabitants and seeks notably to protect biodiversity.
The monarch also enquired about the high commission for water and forests' program which provides for combating forest fire for an amount of 20.5 million dirhams.
HM the King followed a presentation on the projects of building two olive oil processing plants in the rural communes of Laghdir and Brikcha worth 3.69 million dirhams.
Built over 163 m², the Laghdir unit's costs amounts to 1.64 mln dirhams, while the Brikcha plant, which spans over 360m², is worth over 2 mln dirhams.
On this occasion, HM the King visited a milk processing plant and an olive oil processing unit carried out as part of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH).
