HM the King lays foundation stone of M'diq theatre

- HM King Mohammed VI laid, on Monday in the northern city of M'diq, the foundation stone to build a theatre worth 15 million dirhams ($1,8 mln).

The sovereign was given details on the project to be constructed as part of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH).

Built over a surface area of 1,500 m², the facility seats 340 people and is meant to promote music and on-stage performances and artistic works in the city.

The theatre will include a stage, a show room, a sound and light booth, changing rooms, three rooms for music courses, and an exhibition space.

It is one of 28 cultural projects to be carried out within the framework of the 2009-2012 M'diq-Fnideq social upgrading program for an amount of 70 million dirhams.

On this occasion, HM the King presided over the signing ceremony of a framework convention on the management of the INDH projects in the northern prefecture.
