  HM the King lays foundation stone of sports and social complex in Casablanca
HM King Mohammed VI laid, on Tuesday, the foundation stone to build a sports and social complex in the neighborhood of Ain Sbaâ in the city of Casablanca.
 

 HM King Mohammed VI laid, on Tuesday, the foundation stone to build a sports and social complex in the neighborhood of Ain Sbaâ in the city of Casablanca.
 
    The project, worth some 5.82 Million Dirhams ($697k), is part of Morocco’s efforts to promote sports and social activities among citizens, mainly the youth, women and children.

HM King Mohammed VI inaugurates secondary school in Casablanca
Casablanca - HM King Mohammed VI, inaugurated, on Tuesday in the Dar Bouazza urban commune, a secondary school worth 13 million dirhams ($ 1.5 Mln).
    The "Tayeb El Khemal" secondary school, named after one of the victims of the terrorist attacks that rocked Casablanca on May 16, 2003, includes 22 classrooms, a multimedia room, library, meeting room for teachers, and a sports field.

   Spanning over a 3,500 m2 area, the school can accommodate up to 1,000 students. It is part of efforts aiming to fight school drop-out and meet the demand for school facilities in rural areas.

  On this occasion, HM the King followed a presentation made by the Director of the Regional Academy of Education and Training, Khadija Benchouikh, on school extension programme in the Casablanca region.

  Worth some 821 million dirhams ($ 98 Mln), the programme aims at creating 65 schools, expanding several others through the construction of 382 classrooms, and setting up three boarding schools.

  It is meant to improve efficiency and performance of the national education system, in perfect harmony with the goals of the 2009-2012 Emergency Programme.

  The Sovereign also followed explanations on the programme to upgrade schools and social projects to promote child-education in the region.

 complex includes mini-foot, volley -ball, basketball and Hand-ball fields, locker rooms and a multi-disciplinary hall for aerobics and martial arts.

   The project also includes child game room, an outdoor play field, a nursery, a youth space, a cafeteria, shops and administrative facilities.
    The Sovereign was also given, on this occasion, detailed explanations on the building of another sports and social complex in the prefecture of Moulay Rachid (Casablanca).

    These projects are part of a strategy to build 100 complexes by the end of 2010 and 1,000 by 2016.
