  Figuig -

HM the King lays foundation stone of women training centre in Figuig
HM king Mohammed VI, accompanied by Prince Moulay Rachid, laid, on Saturday in the eastern city of Figuig, the foundation stone to build a training and qualification centre for women, worth around 3 million dirhams ($ 380,000).

The centre will contribute to fighting unemployment and promoting the socioeconomic situation of women through income-generating activities.

Built on 1,800 square metres, the centre is expected to benefit 1,000 women.

On this occasion, the monarch visited the Al-Massira cooperative, which benefited from a 2 million-dirham support programme of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity.

The programme is intended to promote the date palm sector in the Figuig oasis and develop the sector of dairy and cattle farming.

The sovereign handed farming equipment, worth 215,000 dirhams, to the cooperative.
