HM the King performs Eid Al-Fitr prayer in Rabat
Rabat - HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and HH Prince Moulay Ismail, performed the Eid Al-Fitr prayer in the Ahl Fès mosque in Rabat and received greetings on this joyous occasion.
Following the prayer the Imam delivered a sermon in which he recalled the atmosphere of spirituality and piety marking the fasting month of Ramadan.
He highlighted the importance of the religious lectures held under the chairmanship of HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, during the holy Ramadan, noting that these lectures have become prestigious tribunes for spreading enlightened knowledge serving Islam and Muslims.
The Imam also praised the initiatives and projects that has been launched by HM the King with a view to ensuring the Kingdom’s progress, development and wellbeing.
On the same occasion, the Imam implored the Almighty to preserve HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, and the Royal family and to crown with success His Majesty’s actions.
Afterwards, HM the King was greeted by heads of diplomatic missions of Islamic countries accredited in Rabat.
At the Royal palace, HM the King received greetings from the Head of Government, Speakers of the Lower and Upper Houses, HM the King’s Advisors, Cabinet Members, High Commissioners, Chairmen of Constitutional institutions, Directors of the Royal Cabinet, the Sovereign’s brother-in-laws and senior military and civil officials.
HM the King pardons 372 convicts on Eid Al-Fitr
Rabat - On the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, HM King Mohammed VI granted pardon to 372 persons who were convicted by different courts across the Kingdom, the Ministry of Justice said in a statement.
In this respect, an inmate benefited from the pardon over the remaining of his prison term, while 164 others had their prison terms reduced.
Forty-two prisoners were granted pardon over their prison sentences.
Imprisonment terms were pardoned with fines maintained against 45 convicts.
Eight prisoners had their prison sentences and fines annulled, while 112 convicts had their fines annulled.

HM the King congratulates heads of brotherly Islamic states on Eid Al-Fitr
Rabat - On the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, sent congratulatory messages to the heads of the brotherly Islamic states.
On this occasion, the Sovereign stressed the need for the peoples of the Muslim Ummah to make the most of their religious and civilizational ties to strengthen cooperation and solidarity between them, develop their complementarity, preserve their sovereignty and unity and defend their just causes.
The Monarch implored the Almighty to guide the leaders of the Muslim peoples to the right path so that they remain committed to the values of tolerance, peace, justice, equality, moderation and coexistence which are advocated by Islam.
His Majesty voiced hope that the aspirations of the Muslim peoples to progress, development, dignity solidarity and prosperity will be met.
In a message to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, HM the King asked God to crown with success the praiseworthy efforts of the Saudi Monarch to serve Islam and Muslims, defend the just causes of the Muslim Ummah and meet the aspirations of the brotherly Saudi people.
In a similar message to UAE President, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Majesty prayed the Almighty to grant success to the President in his leadership of the brotherly Emirati people towards further progress and prosperity.
In messages to Maghreban heads of states, HM the King stressed the need to strengthen the ties of cooperation and solidarity between Maghreban countries and to endeavour to preserve their sovereignty and unity within the framework of “ a strong Maghreban Union” that is capable of meeting the aspirations of the region’s peoples to openness, unity, complementarity, integration and good neighbourliness.
Highlighting the time-honored brotherly relations and fruitful cooperation and solidarity between Morocco and Tunisia, HM the King expressed the Kingdom’s commitment to reinforce these privileged ties and voiced willingness to make of it a pillar consolidating the Maghreban integration.
HM the King implored the Almighty to grant success to the considerable efforts led by Tunisia’s Interim President to achieve the aspirations of the Tunisian people to democracy, dignity, development and prosperity while preserving the country’s unity, security and stability.
