Rabat - HM King Mohammed VI received, on Tuesday at the Royal Palace in Rabat, the Chairman of the Superior Council of Audiovisual Communication, Ahmed Ghazali, in whom HM the King renewed his confidence as the Chairman of the High Authority of Audiovisual Communication (HACA).

    According to a release of the Royal Cabinet, HM the King also received, Rabha Zeidguy, Faouzi Skalli, Mohamed Galaoui and Mohamed Abderrahim, whom His Majesty appointed new members of the HACA, in implementation of the provisions of the 6th article of the Dahir establishing this institution.  

    On this occasion, and in conformity with the dispositions of the same Dahir, HM the King received Mohamed Aujjar and Bouchaïb Ouabbi, who were appointed by the Prime Minister, Talaâ Saoud Atlassi, who was appointed by the Speaker of the Lower House and Khadija ElKour, who was appointed by the Speaker of the Upper House.

    During this audience, HM the King also appointed Naoufal Reghay General Director of Audiovisual Communication.

    The new members of the HACA were sworn before HM the King.

    The renewal of the members of the institution is consistent with His Majesty’s determination to ensure that the bodies and the members of the HACA are performing their duties with integrity and impartiality, the release added.  

    In this regard, the members are entrusted with continuing to work towards the regulation and modernization of the national public and private audiovisual, so that the HACA contributes effectively to the upgrading and development of this sector to be a fundamental pillar for promoting responsible citizenship and consolidating political, cultural, linguistic and media pluralism, and to be a solid lever of democratic progress witnessed by Morocco.

    After commending the work accomplished by the Chairman of the HACA and its former members, HM the King urged the new members to strictly observe the standards of objectivity and professionalism, as well as the rules of equal access to audiovisual media for different currents of thought and sensibilities of Moroccan society, while ensuring respect for the rule of law and ethics of the profession.

HM the King offers dinner in honnor of participants in FIG International Congress
Marrakech - HM King Mohammed VI offered, Saturday, a dinner of honnor of participants in the Congress of the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), which ended today in Marrakech.
    The dinner was attended by Presidents of FIG, CheeHai Teo, the Ordre National des Ingénieurs Géomètres topographes (ONIGT- the Moroccan order of surveyors), Aziz Hilali, the Arab Union of Surveyors (AUS), Sarkis Fadous, and of the Francophone Federation of Surveyors (FGF) François Mazuyer.

    Held under the patronage of HM the King and initiated by the ONIGT under the theme "Brigding the Gap between Cultures", the three-day Congress brought together some 1,700 surveyors from 93 countries.

HM the King inaugurates Hassan II Bridge, two tramway lines for Rabat-Sale worth $600 mln

Rabat - HM King Mohammed VI inaugurated, on Wednesday, the Hassan II Bridge as well as two tramway lines linking Rabat to Sale for an amount of 4.7 billion dirhams (around $600 mln).

- The tramway project has generated an estimate of 4,000 job openings while under construction and will generate another 1,000 once operational.

- The Sovereign decorates several figures for their contribution to the projects' implementation.
    The Hassan II Bridge, worth 1.2 billion dirhams, has a 10-meter headroom and is 12.8 meters high. It is 1,215 meters long and about 46 meters in width.

    The bridge includes two walkways, a tramway platform, three car lanes in each direction and cycle tracks.

    The Rabat-Sale tramway project, built for 3.5 billion dirhams, has generated an estimate of 4,000 job openings while under construction and will generate another 1,000 once operational.

    The current network comprises two routes totalling 19.5 km and 31 stations and a car fleet that meets international standards.

    On this occasion, HM the King decorated several figures for their contribution to the projects’ implementation.

    Lamghari Essakel, director general of the Bouregreg Valley development agency, was awarded the Wissam of Al Moukafaa Al Watania of the Order of Officer, Marc Mimram, architect of Hassan II Bridge was granted the Alaouite wissam of the Order of Officer, and Nada Kassimi and Loubna Boutaleb, director of the bridge’s building works and delegate director general of the Rabat-Sale tramway company respectively, were given the Wissam of Al Moukafaa Al Watania of the Order of the Knight.
