HM the king receives new dean of Naciria Islamic religious school

HM the King inaugurates central labs of fisheries research institute in Casablanca

HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, on Friday received Sheikh Redouane Ben Sheikh Benaceur Naciri, the new dean of the Naciria Zaouia (Islamic religious school) in Tamagrout (southeastern Morocco).
 

    Founded at the beginning of the Alawite dynasty, the Tariqah Naciria has played an important role in the promotion of the Sunnah (prophet's tradition) and theology, mainly through its famous library in Tamagrout, which contains nearly 6,000 manuscripts.     

    During this audience, which was attended by Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Redouane Ben Sheikh Benaceur Naciri extended to HM the King a message of gratitude on behalf of the followers of the zaouia Naciria.

HM the King inaugurates central labs of fisheries research institute in Casablanca

Casablanca - HM king Mohammed VI inaugurated, on Friday in Casablanca, the central laboratories of Morocco's institute for fisheries research, worth 30 million dirhams ($ 3.6 million).

    Spanned over a 8,000 m2 area, the new scientific facility includes 15 labs that will bring together a hundred of specialists in fisheries research.

    These laboratories, which are specialized in research on marine resources, oceanography and aquaculture, will also monitor the quality and safety of the marine environment.

    The project was funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (70 million dirhams) and Morocco’s institute for fisheries research (20 million dirhams).

    On this occasion, six scientific books written by the institute were handed over to the Monarch.
