In a call made following the 9th ordinary meeting of the Higher Council of Ulema in Casablanca, the council called upon Algerian Ulemas and various stakeholders to refrain from creating a climate of tension and discord in order to avoid the wrongs that the Prophet warns against by affirming that the true believer is the one who refrains from making mischief against his neighbor.
The Council wondered: is there a more serious mischief than providing support to a separatist movement, which rests on no foundation neither in terms of Shariaa, history, nor the local human geography.
The Council recalled the requirements of al-Beiaa (the pledge of allegiance), which binds the throne to the people in the defense of the unity, sovereignty and the sacred values of the homeland.
The Moroccan Ulema made it clear that whoever deviates from al-Beiaa is a traitor of the Umma (nation), who serves the enemies of his country’s unity, and implements a foreign colonial agenda based on sowing the seeds of division, a scheme that Moroccans have foiled thanks to their Jihad and tremendous sacrifices.
The Council called on those who run the sequestration camps of Tindouf (southwestern Algeria), infringe the physical integrity of detainees and alienate their freedom, to repent their crimes committed against their brothers for the sole purpose of gaining the sympathy of human rights organizations, notably the ones which react in a selective and suspicious manner and which use double standards, without taking into consideration the causes of the Islamic nation and the unity of its countries.
The Council addressed the Islamic Umma, notably the Ulema, saying that throughout history when separatism was threatening Islamic lands, they were at the forefront in the defense of the unity and stood against separatism because the act of defending union is part of Islamic precepts.
The Council called on the Islamic Umma to stop being neutral and silent regarding the divisions threatening the Umma and to honor their commitments.
