HM the King and the Emir of Qatar President's signing of four bilateral cooperation agreements.
King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, and the Emir of the State of Qatar, HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, presided on Thursday at the Palace of gustes in Rabat, the signing ceremony four bilateral cooperation agreements.
The first agreement on a partnership agreement for the creation of a Moroccan-Qatari Investment was signed by the Director General of Qatar Holding, Ahmad Mohamed Al-Sayed and the Minister of Economy and Finance Salaheddine Mezouar.
It is also a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in tourism, signed between the governments of Morocco and the State of Qatar, Dr. Khalid Bin by Mohammad Al-Attiyah, Minister of Qatari State for Foreign Affairs and Mr. Yassir Zenagui, Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts.
The third agreement relates to a memorandum of understanding in mining between the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco, represented by the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (NOHM), and the Government of the State of Qatar, represented by the mining company in Qatar.
It was signed, the Qatari side, by Dr. Khalid Bin Mohammad Al-Attiyah and the moroccan side the Minister of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment and General Manager NOHM, Amina Benkhadra.
The two sides also signed an additional protocol to the agreement on labor Morocco, Qatar, concluded in 1987 between the governments of Morocco and the State of Qatar.
Have signed the Protocol on Qatari Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, Nasser Bin Abdullah Al-Hamidi and the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Mr. Jamal Rhmani.
Attended the ceremony, the prime minister, Abbas El Fassi, members of government, the Moroccan economic operators, members of the delegation accompanying the Emir of Qatar and others.
Agreement setting up Morocco's tourism investment authority signed in Rabat
HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and Kuwait's Finance Minister Sheikh Mustafa Jassim Al Shamali, presided, on Thursday in Rabat, over the signing ceremony of a partnership agreement to set up Morocco’s Tourism Investment Authority.
24 November 2011Director General of the Moroccan Fund for Tourism Development, Tarik Senhaji, made a presentation during the signing ceremony to highlight the importance of partnership between Morocco and Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates in the field of tourism.
He said the significant contribution of the Gulf brotherly countries to the Moroccan Fund for Tourism Development mirrors the mutual trust existing between Morocco and these countries and confirms Morocco as an attractive market for tourism investment.
This partnership agreement, he said, will add a special impetus to investment in Morocco’s tourism sector.
Senhaji also highlighted the positive results of Morocco’s ambitious tourism development strategy dubbed, Vision-2010, launched in 2001.
The screening of a video film showcasing the mission of the new tourism Authority also marked the ceremony.
Afterwards, Economy and Finance Minister, Salahedine Mezouar, President of the board of directors of the Hassan II Fund for Economic and Social Development, Abdelouahed Kabbaj, CEO of Qatar Holding, Ahmad Mohamed Al-Sayed, Pesident of the Board of Directors of Aabar investments (Abu Dhabi), Khadem Abdallah Al-Qubaissi, and President of the Board of Directors of the Al-Ajial Investment Fund, Badr Al-Ojail, signed the partnership agreement to set up the Moroccan Authority for Tourism Investment.
King Mohammed VI and his guests were later on briefed on two tourism development projects to be implemented in Ouarzazate (530km south-east of Rabat) and Oukaimden, near Marrakesh.
The first project to be carried out in Ouarzazate, a world famed destination for film-makers, will include hotels, a museum, golf courses as well as a center for cinema related activities.
Under the second project, a skiing resort will be built in Oukaimden including hotels, residence compounds, a medina, a conference center, a theater complex, restaurants and golf courses.
