The opening ceremony of the seminar, which brings together Moroccan and foreign experts, was marked by a royal message to the participants, read out by the chairman of the national Council for Human Rights (CNDH), Driss Yazami.
The two-day event is initiated by the CNDH in implementation of recommendations of the Equity and Reconciliation (IER) regarding archives, history and memory.
The IER was set up in 2004 to seek out-of-court settlement of human rights abuses committed between 1956 and 1999.
