Morocco's Telecoms operator, Maroc Telecom, reported a net income of 9.5 billion Moroccan Dirhams (1.1 billion Dollars), a 18.5% rise on 2007, with annual consolidated revenues growing to 29.5 billion Dirhams (+7.2%).

Maroc Telecom, which published its 2008 results, said it plans to distribute all its 2008 earnings to its shareholders through a dividend of 10.83 dirhams per share.

The published results posted an operating income of 13.889 billion dirhams, an increase of 13.5%, generating an operating margin of 47%, up 2.6 points from the year earlier.

These positive results are attributable to the strong mobile revenue growth both domestically and abroad, namely in Mauritania, Burkina Faso and Gabon, where Maroc Telecom has subsidiaries.

This year, the group expects an increase in revenue exceeding 3%, while maintaining a high operating margin of 47%
