With the reforms announced in the Royal Speech of March 9, Morocco aspires, once again, to forge ahead within the most possible democratic framework, Fassi Fihri told French TV channel France 24.
This "extremely profound, ambitious and bold" framework, hailed by several countries, is meant to promote the democratic process, launched in Morocco years ago, he noted.
"We're talking about a new Morocco in 2011, which prepares the best possible structures in terms of modernity, balance of powers, accountability and human development," he added.
He cited among the key pillars of the constitutional reforms, announced by HM King Mohammed VI, "the strengthening of our plural identity, institutional recognition of the Amazigh, advanced regionalization, independence of Justice and the expanding of the Prime Minister’s powers.”
He stressed that the dialogue is "open to all political forces, trade union, civil society and youth to elaborate the future constitution.”
