Moroccan PM denounces Spanish PP's acts hostile to the Kingdom's territorial integrity
Moroccan Prime Minister Abbas El Fassi, Moroccan Prime Minister Abbas El Fassi, secretary-general of the Istiqlal party, denounced, on Wednesday in Rabat, the maneuvers and acts of the Spanish Popular Party (PP) which are hostile to Morocco's territorial integrity.

El Fassi told the press following his meeting with leaders of political parties represented in Parliament, that the Spanish PP, which has in recent weeks intensified its hostile acts towards the Kingdom, has resorted to lies, and presented at a meeting of the European Parliament fallacious data and false documents on the events of Laayoune.

He added that the PP, rather than expose the gross human rights violations in Tindouf, preferred to resort to lies and distortion of facts, claiming several civilian casualties and hundreds missing.

The Prime Minister also recalled that several human rights organisations, Moroccan and international alike, affirmed that these figures are "fictitious and baseless" and that the Moroccan security forces did not use their weapons during these events.

The secretary-general of the Istiqlal Party reiterated the condemnation by all political parties of the actions of the Spanish Popular Party, which exploits the case for electioneering and politicking purposes, stressing the mobilization of Moroccan political parties to defend the Kingdom’s territorial integrity and immutable values.

The heads of Moroccan political parties represented in Parliament, denounced in the strongest terms the fact that various Spanish political parties continue to use "fallacious methods and immoral approaches" with respect to the recent events of Laayoune.

In a statement released after the meeting, which was attended by Foreign Minister Taib Fassi Fihri and the Interior Minister Taieb Charqaoui, the leaders of political parties stated that these acts are coarse and marked by blatant misrepresentation of reality and obvious tactical and political manipulation.

They also unanimously condemned the actions of the Spanish Popular Party, which continues to exploit the question of Laayoune’s events for electioneering purposes both in Spain and at the European Parliament.
