The delegates to the festival stressed, at a press conference on Tuesday in Rabat, that despite the desperate attempts of countries and organizations known for their hostility to Morocco, they succeeded in making the issue of the Moroccan Sahara a central theme during this event.
In a statement issued on this occasion, the participants, who represent democratic organizations, announced the launch of a major international initiative to correct the deviations of the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY).
It commended the emergence, within the said youth organization, of an international movement that refuses the exploitation of this Federation by some parties with preconceived positions in dealing with issues of conflict between NGOs and member states.
Underlining that the assault to which the Moroccan delegation was prejudiced shows that the separatists do not understand the language of dialogue and debate, the delegates lauded Arab and international organizations which have supported them following their expulsion decision, mainly the Arab Youth Union, the Arab Students Union, the representatives of the Russian and Vietnamese communist parties and the delegation of the State of Palestine.
The democratic organizations of Moroccan youth and students hailed efforts made by the Moroccan community and embassy in South Africa to back the delegation, as well as their role in throwing light on the national cause.
