"There is no security and development without good governance at the national level which in turn requires a strong regional cooperation," Fassi Fihri told the 14th ministerial meeting of the Arab-African cooperation commission.
The Top Moroccan diplomat deemed that bolstering Arab-African relations is of strategic importance, adding that the two regions need a closer cooperation at the political, economic and human development levels.
Arab and African countries need to further support institutions and organizations operating in the field of human development, he said.
The meeting, held in preparation for the 2nd Afro-Arab summit, will focus on the means to boost Afro-Arab cooperation in several fields in addition to the situation in Darfour and Somalia.
The Palestinian issue, means to foster economic and cultural cooperation are also included in the meeting's agenda.
