Morocco calls on other parties involved in Sahara issue to show realism
The other parties involved in the Sahara conflict should show realism and respond positively to the UN security council calls to move forward in the Sahara talks, Morocco's permanent representative to the UN, Mohamed Loulichki, said on Sunday.

The Moroccan diplomat told "Medi-1Sat" TV channel that the positions of the other parties remain frozen and advocate extremist options for the settlement of an artificial conflict created by the enemies of Moroccan territorial integrity.

During the recent informal meeting held in Armonk, NY outskirts, the other parties once again attempted to use human rights issue to hamper the momentum spurred by the Moroccan initiative to grant a substantial autonomy to the Sahara, M. Loulichki added.

Morocco, which is convinced of Maghreb integration, backs all moves destined to engage talks, said the Moroccan ambassador to the UN, highlighting the philosophy behind Moroccan Sahara autonomy initiative and the broad-based regionalisation, which upholds good governance and local democracy.
