Since early age, Princess Lalla Hasna has been involved in activities benefiting the Moroccan society, with a particular focus on social, cultural and environmental issues. Through her multiple initiatives the Princess was able to promote environmental culture.
The efforts made by Lalla Hasna, chairwoman of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, were crowned with the nomination of Her Royal Highness, in 2007, as "Coast Ambassador" by the United Nation Program for the Environment.
As part of her efforts to protect nature, Lalla Hasna was received in March in Washington by US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. During this meeting, the Princess highlighted achievements and projects carried out by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment.
During her visit to the United States, Lalla Hasna also held talks with US Environmental Protection Agency Administrator, Lisa Jackson.
Princess Lalla Hasna is a mother of two daughters, Lalla Oumaima and Lalla Oulaya.
