Morocco hopes for restoration of full constitutional order in Niger

- Morocco voiced hope to see a quick restoration of full constitutional order in Niger and a return to a normal pacific and democratic political life for the good of the brotherly Nigerian people, the Foreign Ministry said Sunday.

"Denouncing the use of force, which ousted President Mamadou Tandja within a difficult and tense political situation during the latest months, Morocco voices hope for a quick restoration of full constitutional order in this brotherly country and a return to a normal and pacific democratic political life for the good of the brotherly Nigerian people and their development," the Foreign ministry said in a statement.

"The Kingdom of Morocco expresses its strong attachment to its traditional relations of brotherhood, solidarity and fruitful cooperation with the Niger Republic," the statement said, underlining the "privileged ties between the two brotherly peoples."

In this respect, Morocco "attaches particular interest to the stability and security in Niger and to the progress of its people in all fields," the statement added.
