Morocco resolutely engaged in NATO Mediterranean dialogue, NATO Deputy SG
Morocco is resolutely and pragmatically committed to promoting the North-Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)'s Mediterranean dialogue, NATO deputy secretary general Claudio Bisogniero said here on Monday.

Speaking at a meeting on "the Mediterranean dialogue and the Alliance's New Strategic Concept", the NATO official hailed the importance given by Morocco to this dialogue and the pragmatism shown by the Kingdom in this regard.

He also commended Morocco's valuable contribution to NATO's several peace keeping operations worldwide namely in Kosovo and Bosnia-Herzegovina, affirming that the approach embraced by Morocco goes hand in hand with the NATO's comprehensive approach.

Bisogniero praised the excellent cooperation ties existing between Morocco and NATO and described as "very positive" the collaboration between the two sides in the fields of political consultation, military training, fight against terrorism and crisis management.

The NATO deputy secretary general recalled the new strategic concept launched by the Alliance to face up the new security challenges worldwide.

These new global challenges, which include proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, piracy, energy supplies, terrorism and climate change, require global defense strategies.
