Speaking at a board meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of the Mediterranean (PA-UfM), Radi gave a historical overview of the Sahara issue, stressing the unwavering commitment of the populations of Morocco's southern provinces to their homeland, Morocco.
Recalling the hostility fueled by Algeria regarding the national territorial unity, Radi underlined Morocco’s good will to settle the Sahara dispute through proposing an autonomy plan for the southern provinces.
The autonomy plan becomes more relevant due to the failure of the past unpractical attempts, he said, adding that the United Nations itself has concluded the impossibility of organizing a referendum in Morocco’s southern provinces.
In this regard, he clarified that the initiative contributes to reaching a lasting solution to the artificial conflict over the Sahara.
