On the sidelines of the Summit (April 7-10), Nasri held talks with Nobel Prize winner, founder of Grameen Bank in Bangladesh and promoter of the first experience in the world of microfinance, Muhammad Yunus.
Nasri discussed with Yunus opportunities for cooperation between the Kingdom and the Grameen Bank in terms of sustainable development and exchange of experience in microfinance.
The Royal advisor also met Princess Maxima of the Netherlands, appointed Special Advisor to UN Secretary General in microfinance.
Nasri held talks with Tanzanian Minister of State in charge of Good Governance, Sophia Simba, and Gambia’s Secretary of State for Women’s Affairs, Isatou Njie-Saidy.
Nasri also met with Executive Director of the Kenya Women Finance Trust (KWFT), Jennifer Riria.
In Morocco, micro-credit is developing significantly thanks to the setting up of an adequate legal and regulatory framework, the increasing professionalism of its promoters and the importance of its financial resources.
The North African kingdom counts actually 12 microcredit associations, including five operating throughout the country.
