Speaking at a meeting with Australian Minister for Environment Protection, Heritage and the Arts Peter Garrett, Akharbach said Morocco is ready to boost bilateral cooperation, noting that the Kingdom’s foreign policy advocates diversifying partners.
The two countries share the same values and principles of peace and democracy, she said, calling for bilateral agreements to spur trade exchange and promote investment.
The meeting was also an opportunity to raise the issue of increasing Australia's diplomatic representation in the Kingdom through opening an Embassy in Rabat.
Garrett, who is in Morocco to take part in the International Whaling Commission’s meeting in Agadir (June 21-25), said that the two parties examined issues of common interest including the protection of world heritage areas, the identification of environment programmes and the bilateral cooperation in the agricultural field.
