Following the working session devoted to the project, which was chaired by HM King Mohammed VI, on Saturday in Rabat, Benkhadra told the press that international partners fully adhere to the solar energy project and wish to be part of it.
This project will allow the kingdom to promote its own renewable energy sources, taking into account sustainable development and environment protection imperatives, underlined the minister, adding that the project "is progressing according to the agreed schedule".
Morocco has embarked on a leading solar energy plan and an integrated wind energy project, which will allow the kingdom to meet 42% of its energy needs by 2020, relying on clean and renewable energy sources.
