Most influential powers support Moroccan autonomy initiative for Sahara -Moroccan diplomat
Most influential powers support Moroccan autonomy initiative for Sahara Morocco's ambassador to Spain, Ahmadou Souilem, has said that most influential powers support Morocco's autonomy initiative for its southern provinces.

Souilem told the regional TV channel of Laayoune on Tuesday that the Moroccan autonomy project is the most appropriate, realistic solution for the Sahara issue, and enjoys support of the majority of Sahrawis.

On Moroccan-Spanish relations, he said they have steadily developed, and that Morocco is endeavoring to reinforce its ties with Madrid, as evidenced by many initiatives.

He added that the question of the Sahara is not the chief subject of relations with Spain, with the latter aware of the strategic importance of bilateral relations.
