During the meeting the Moroccan Premier communicated instructions of HM the King to carry out an assessment of the damages left by the recent floods, notably in the regions of Souss (center) and the Gharb (North-east), and to follow-up the measures relating to providing assistance to the flood-stricken population.
His Majesty’s instructions relate also to carrying out additional measures to mitigate the floods’ effect and protect the population from future floods.
The meeting was attended notably by several cabinet ministers including ministers of the Interior, Agriculture, Health, Economy and Finance , in addition to other senior officials.
Around 110,560 hectares were damaged in the flood-stricken Gharb region due to a rainfall exceeding by 85% the average recorded over the past three decades.
