"In accordance with the instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, President of Al Quds Committee, Morocco has expressed its support for the Palestinian cause in order to reach a final and fair settlement through serious negotiations, based on the provisions of international legality," Fassi Fihri told MAP on the sidelines of the 133rd Ministerial Council of the Arab League.
He added that this solution should lead to the establishment of a sovereign and territorially contiguous Palestinian State.
This approach, said the minister, requires halting settlement activities and the aggression against the Islamic historical sites in the occupied Palestinian territories, including the occupied Al-Quds.
The minister said the Ministerial Committee for monitoring the Arab peace initiative, which met on Tuesday, followed a statement by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on the U.S. position regarding the "legitimate and objective" Palestinian demands in the negotiation process, its objectives, agenda and the American role in this regard.
