Morocco renews attachment to independent Palestinian state with Eastern Al Quds as capital

Moroccan foreign minister reaffirmed, on Thursday, Morocco's attachment to an independent, viable Palestinian state with the Eastern part of Al Quds as capital.

"There can be no peace nor stability in the region without an independent state with the Eastern part of Al Quds as capital," Fassi Fihri told the press prior to the weekly cabinet meeting.
The minister said the Moroccan delegation to the Arab Summit, which took place in Surt, Libya, had underlined the role of HM king Mohammed VI, in his capacity as chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, and the need to coordinate Arab states' stances with regard to the question of the Eastern part of Al Quds in the face of Israeli attempts to isolate the city from the occupied West Bank.
He commended, in this regard, the US administration's efforts to get Israel to end its colonization policy in the Eastern part of Al Quds, noting that the Arab World endorses the US approach and the position of the EU, the UN and the international Quartet.
