Prince Philippe of Belgium calls for strengthening trust, good governance to address world crisis
Prince Philippe of Belgium called, here on Monday, for the strengthening of trust and good governance to face up the world downturn and support sustainable development.

Speaking at the opening session of the Ministerial Conference of the MENA-OECD initiative, Prince Philippe underlined the importance of trust to promote investments, adding that trust in quality and the stability of contractual relations and business environment are required to develop the private sector.

Prince Philippe stressed the importance of launching the world economies to insure the well-being of citizens and support employment's perspectives, saying that the downturn has raised consciousness about the crucial role of good governance.

He reiterated the support of his country to the MENA-OECD partnership, noting that good governance should be based on a participative approach that respects the principles of the rule of Law, and the integrity of public administration and the judicial power.

The conference, held under the high patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, brings together several Ministers in charge of investment policies and public governance in the MENA region in addition to members of the OECD to debate the means to face the world economic crisis in order to contribute to the prosperity and well-being of citizens.
