Princess Lalla Amina In Cairo To Participate In GA Of SOI For MENA's Advisory Council

Princess Lalla Amina, Chairwoman of Special Olympics Morocco and member of the advisory council of Special Olympics International, arrived on Sunday in Cairo to participate in the general assembly of the advisory council of Special Olympics international (SOI) for the Middle-East and North Africa (MENA), slated May 10-12 in Cairo.

Twenty-three representatives from the MENA region will take part in the event meant for the election of a member of the international advisory council, and the chairman and new members of the MENA advisory council.

The event will focus on the region's recommendations and proposals related to the 2011-2015 strategic plan of Special Olympics International Global Congress, scheduled June 6-10 June in Marrakech.

It will also touch on the activities of MENA Special Olympics, as well as the promotion of cooperation between regional sports partners.

The MENA's action plan is aimed at increasing the number of athletes, improving the quality of services offered to members, and developing the technical skills of supervisors and coaches.

Morocco hosted in April 2008 a meeting of Special Olympics International, held under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI and under the presidency of Princess Lalla Amina.
