Princess Lalla Amina

Princess Lalla Amina, Chairwoman of Special Olympics Morocco and member of the international Advisory Council of Special Olympics, will take part, on January 20-23 in Cairo, in the Advisory Council meeting of Special Olympics for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

The meeting, which will bring together the representatives of Special Olympics programs in the MENA region, will examine the 2010 annual review of activities, the progress in the implementation of the strategic action plan of International Special Olympics World Congress, held in Marrakech in June 2010.

It will also tackle the participation of the MENA countries in World Summer Games in Athens in 2011 and the report of the regional Commission of finance resources, a statement of Special Olympics Morocco said on Tuesday.

The action program of MENA, which includes 23 countries, aims at consolidating the achievements, developing the skills of Special Olympics managers and strengthening cooperation relations with national and international partners in order to improve the performance of athletes and promote mechanisms for monitoring and managing sporting events, the statement added.
