Princess Lalla Hasnaa was given details on the Park's plan and visited the main area, the water basin, the avenue of Washingtonias, the water distributor, the polygon, the bamboos, the Noria (water wheel), the Burj (tower) and the nine gardens of short-lived plants (each carried out by a group of ten children).
Given the historical import of the Jnane Sbil Park, its rehabilitation was given priority by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Environment's historical gardens rehabilitation program.
The Park, which dates back to the 18th century, was affected by the severe drought that hit Morocco at the end of the last century. It is built over 7.5 hectares and serves as a bridge between Fez El Bali and Fez Jdid.
In conformity with the Foundation's mission which aims at instilling the environment culture in youngsters, a program was devised in partnership with the Fez French Institute in order to carry out gardens of short-lived plants by pupils from Fez schools.
