Princess Lalla Salma Chairs Celebration Ceremony of World No Tobacco Day 2010

 HRH Princess Lalla Salma, Chairwoman of the Lalla Salma Association for the Fight against Cancer (ALCS) and goodwill ambassador of the World Health Organisation, chaired on Monday the ceremony marking the World No Tobacco Day 2010.

 

    The ceremony was marked by the presentation of the national results of the anti-tobacco efforts, the 2009 World anti-tobacco Report and the methodological approach of anti-tobacco patterns.

    On this occasion, the princess handed over the Lalla Salma Association labels to “tobacco-free businesses” as well as the Lalla Salma Fight against Cancer Award.

    Maroc Telecom won the Golden label, while BMCE Bank and ONCF won the Silver labels. 

    The Lalla Salma Fight against Cancer Award “tobacco-free hospital” went to the 20th August Hospital in Casablanca, while the Lalla Salma Fight against Cancer Award “tobacco-free high school” went to Amira Lalla Salma High School in Rissani, and the Lalla Salma Fight against Cancer Award “tobacco-free junior high school” went to Jamal Eddine Afghani Junior High School in El Haouz.

    On the same occasion, the Princess visited the stands of the different institutions exhibiting their works in the field of the fight against tobacco.
